Nissan to Launch Rogue Hybrid in US in November as e-Power Strategy Expands

Nissan will launch the Rogue e-Power hybrid in the United States in November 2026 as the Japanese automaker increases its focus on hybrid vehicles in one of its largest markets, Nissan Americas Chairman Christian Meunier said on September 28.

The Rogue is entering the US market as Nissan's e-Power technology, that has already been used in more than 2 million vehicles globally. Unlike conventional hybrid systems, e-Power uses a gasoline engine to produce electricity, while electric motors drive the vehicle's wheels.

Nissan expects hybrid vehicles to account for 30% to 40% of US sales in the C-segment, which includes compact and midsize vehicles, according to Meunier. The company also plans to introduce the smaller Kicks e-Power in the US and Canada as soon as possible.

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid will initially arrive with all-wheel drive and Nissan's e-Power system. The company says the system which is a combination of a gasoline engine with a battery and electric motors, giving the vehicle a combined 225 horsepower. Preliminary fuel-economy estimates are 40 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined.

Nissan has also planned to expand hybrid powertrains to larger SUVs and pickup trucks in the future. The automaker is set to localize 80% of US manufacturing by the end of 2030, compared with about 65% currently, according to Meunier. Nissan is set to start the US production in 2028 as said by the company.

The Rogue Hybrid will initially launch with the SR AWD and SR Technology Package, while additional SV, SR and Platinum versions are scheduled to follow in early 2027. Nissan has listed the Rogue Hybrid lineup from $37,065 to $45,065, including the destination charge.

The launch gives Nissan a new hybrid offering in the US compact SUV segment, alongside established hybrid models from Toyota, Honda and Hyundai.
